The Faculty of Arts and Science publishes the Bulletin of Faculty of Arts and Science once a year, and the second volume has now been released. While it was already available in print, it appears that the PDF version has now been published online.

Professor Ogata’s manuscript describes the results of analyzing learners’ study behaviors from learning logs, which is being conducted at the Learning Analytics Center of the Faculty of Arts and Science and was featured in a press release in February. It includes multifaceted analyses, such as the relationship with grades, the relationship with grade improvement, and the analysis of preparation and review behaviors.

I am the lead author of the ePortfolio manuscript, which started from the question: what exactly is the effect of an ePortfolio? At Kyushu University, we use Mahara as our ePortfolio system. We implemented it on a limited basis in several classes and compared it with paper-based portfolios to examine how students perceive ePortfolios. By using an ePortfolio, various learning trajectories are accumulated, and I believe it is necessary to continue observing how this will evolve in the future.

Finally, regarding the development of the Multidimensional Active Learner Scale, our university aims to foster active learners through our faculty-wide education, so we decided to create a scale to evaluate this, as we needed to consider how to assess it. This paper describes the structure, development, and evaluation of the validity of that scale. It is necessary to collect data on this scale along with other items and conduct longitudinal evaluations.

I hope this will be a useful reference, as I believe many of you at other universities may be facing similar challenges.
