April 1st is a day that I think many university faculty members find quite nerve-wracking. Fortunately, the research project I applied for under the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) (General) has been accepted!! I am deeply grateful to the reviewers and the collaborating researchers who provided their support. Over the next three years, I intend to conduct high-quality research that contributes to the development of educational environments, both in Japan and internationally.

Regarding the content of the research, I plan to expand upon the project-based learning support system I have been working on, develop new features based on the theory of Socially Shared Regulated Learning (SSRL), and verify their effectiveness. SSRL is a theory that has been proposed since around 2006 and has recently become one of the areas receiving significant attention. It has begun to appear in journals such as the Journal of the Learning Sciences. While frameworks and models for SSRL have emerged from psychological studies and the like, there are still very few studies focusing on its integration with other theories, or more specifically, on learning support and system development research that leverages it.

This research will be a collaborative project involving researchers who are active in the fields of instructional design and learning outcome assessment, as well as researchers specializing in text mining and machine learning. I hope to create something excellent and conduct research that contributes to the development of better learning environments.
