It was a great honor to introduce the joint research between Fukuoka Girls’ High School and Kyushu University at the Fukuoka Girls’ High School 100th Anniversary Ceremony. In addition to the utilization of “B-QUBE,” a digital teaching material distribution system used at Kyushu University, and “Metaboard,” a learning data analysis platform, we also presented “ImaginaBook,” a VR-based picture book reading skill acquisition support system for childcare worker training. This system is currently being developed through a unique collaboration between Fukuoka Girls’ High School, the Fukushima Laboratory at the Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, and the Yamada Laboratory (DX Promotion Headquarters / Faculty of Human-Environment Studies) at Kyushu University, and we included a demonstration of it. As mentioned previously, this system has won the Grand Prize at the Learning Innovation Grand Prix and has been accepted at ACM SIGGRAPH Asia.

For this demonstration, we functionally updated the system; Professor Fukushima and Mr. Aiura worked on the avatar’s reactions when the picture book reading technique is not proficient, the feedback comments on the collected data, and the clarification of the display dashboard. We also discussed further enhancing its functions. This is becoming a very exciting research project.Furthermore, Fukuoka Girls’ High School received an award for their contribution to the development and promotion of education in Fukuoka City in relation to the VR system for supporting picture book reading skills.
