We introduced Childcare VR at the Atagohama Elementary School commemorative event

2025年10月03日

The other day, at a commemorative event for Atagohama Elementary School held at Fukuoka Girls’ High School, we introduced a VR system designed to support the acquisition of picture book reading skills for childcare worker training. This system is part of a joint research project between the high school and the Smart Learning Design Research Unit (Professor Fukushima from the Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, and his student, Mr. Aiura). We faced several challenges in configuring the scene presentation due to display compatibility, but with Mr. Aiura’s cooperation, everything went well.

We had the high school students demonstrate the VR picture book reading scene in front of the elementary school students.

The elementary school students were very excited, letting out “Wow!” exclamations and happily imitating the gestures made by the avatars in the VR.

It was quite a lively event, and I am glad it went well. I look forward to continuing our collaboration with Professor Fukushima and Mr. Aiura to further improve the system and contribute to even more effective skill acquisition for the students. Thank you very much.
