Well, it is not me, though… (laughs). Xuewang Geng, who completed his doctoral program at the Yamada Laboratory and has been working hard as a specially appointed associate professor at the DX Promotion Headquarters, moved to the Faculty of Information at Sojo University starting in September!! Congratulations!! (Although I had known about it since around the end of June, and it was actually a public offering that I personally told him to apply for.)
Dr. Geng played an engine-like role in my research unit, the Smart Learning Design Research Unit, and worked truly hard. He actively promoted Learning Analytics research utilizing the digital teaching material distribution system “B-QUBE” and the learning dashboard “Metaboard.” As far as I know, his research achievements are quite numerous for a researcher in Educational Technology of his generation. This time, he has moved to Sojo University as an associate professor with tenure. This is truly a wonderful achievement.
Following Li Chen (Osaka Kyoiku University), he is advancing toward a great career. I hope his juniors will follow in his footsteps.
Both Dr. Geng and Dr. Chen have agreed to continue and further accelerate our joint research on the utilization of B-QUBE and Metaboard. The number of higher education institutions and high schools other than Kyushu University using B-QUBE and Metaboard for joint research is increasing, and I believe our joint research will become even more active. I am truly delighted.
“To raise students with whom I want to conduct joint research.”
That has been my goal. I am truly proud that one more student has joined the ranks of those who have achieved this.
I am looking forward to what comes next.

When we held the international conference “ICLEA 2025,” Dr. Geng came to Fukuoka, so we held a farewell party with the laboratory members at that time.
