New Year’s Greetings

2013年01月01日

Happy New Year. I look forward to working with you all again this year.

Last year was a very meaningful year, as I was able to write papers and book chapters, and work on projects related to university libraries. However, one regret is that I did not have a single paper as a first author. I reflect on this and hope to improve in this area this year. I hope it will be a good year.

I also hope to actively promote research and practice regarding university libraries and learning spaces. This will require not only my efforts but also the help of library staff, so if there are any volunteers, please join me! I have loved university libraries since I was an undergraduate, so I want to continue to be involved with them. I also want to significantly develop the research on social presence that I am conducting with Professor Kitamura of Tokyo Keizai University, and advance the research on the evaluation of educational and learning games that I am conducting with Professor Fujimoto of the University of Tokyo.

Regarding KAKENHI research projects, I would also like to invigorate our research on out-of-class learning support environments using social media, led by Professor Yasunami of Kumamoto University, and our research on mentoring to promote self-regulated learning in e-learning, led by Professor Miyagawa of Aoyama Gakuin University.

Furthermore, I would like to study new things, such as theories, and apply them to my research.

I wish you all a wonderful year!
