News: Fukuoka City Board of Education x Kyushu University DX Promotion Headquarters Joint Symposium “Co-creating Educational Environments in a Digital Society”

2026年02月16日

On March 26th at 1:00 PM, we will hold a joint symposium with the Fukuoka City Board of Education titled “Co-creating Educational Environments in a Digital Society: Next-Generation Education Guided by Educational Data and ICT, presented by Fukuoka City × Kyushu University” (hybrid format).

For the past several years, we have been conducting joint research with the Fukuoka City Board of Education, Fukuoka Municipal Fukuoka Seiryo High School, and Fukuoka Municipal Fukuoka Girls’ High School to support the improvement of teaching quality by utilizing the digital learning material distribution system “B-QUBE” and the learning behavior analysis dashboard “Metaboard.” Furthermore, since last year, we have been developing joint practical research utilizing educational data, such as a VR system to support the acquisition of picture book reading skills in childcare worker training, the use of VR in world history, card games for career exploration classes, and the practical application of game play logs, which is truly evolving into a form of educational environment co-creation research. However, we are still only halfway there, and there are still challenges that need to be addressed.

In this symposium, we have invited Professor Kosuke Terashima from Osaka Kyoiku University to deliver a keynote speech on education co-created by teachers and students through the use of educational data and ICT, as well as the points that should be considered toward that end. Following this, we will report on the results of our joint research with two Fukuoka City schools and hold a panel discussion. We hope to advance the discussion toward creating educational environments that utilize educational data, incorporating perspectives from teacher education, educational methodology, information system development, as well as from the educational field and administration.
