I contributed an article on “Realization of Learner-Oriented Education through the use of LA” to the magazine “University Education and Information” published by the Association for Information Education at Private Universities. The Learning Analytics Center and the Teaching Materials Development Center were the main contributors to the MEXT’s “Plus-DX” project, of which the Learning Analytics Center was the main contributor. The development of teaching materials such as VR, etc. conducted by the Teaching Materials Development Center is described in No. 4 for fiscal year 2021.
This page introduces the Learning Analytics Center’s Learning Analytics-related functions developed in this project. The Learning Analytics Center also took the opportunity of this project to develop a log analysis function for Moodle. It may seem strange, but most of the research conducted by the Learning Analytics Center is based on the logs of digital teaching materials, which are quite granular, and we have not looked at the logs of LMSs very much. With the spread of the new type of Covid, the number of teachers using Moodle, even if it is not a digital material delivery system, has increased significantly, and its use has become routine. It has become normal for students to use LMS as well. The tools we have developed this time are truly important and will be powerful in supporting students’ learning and guiding them to improve their behavior.
Several other tools are also available. Please take a look at them if you are interested.
