The accepted paper is based on Geng’s research on an AR-based Japanese compound verb learning support system. It uses a Learning Analytics approach to clarify what kind of learning behaviors are taken and how they lead to specific learning strategies. Compound verbs are verbs formed by combining two verbs, such as “tachiagaru” (stand up) or “torihazusu” (detach). While Japanese people use them quite often, international students often find it difficult to grasp the nuances—or rather, they often struggle to distinguish them from simple verbs. For example, the difference between “hazusu” (remove) and “torihazusu” (detach), or “tatsu” (stand) and “tachiagaru” (stand up). When put that way, it is certainly difficult, isn’t it?
