Yamada Laboratory, Kyushu University

Celebration for PhD.

As the global outbreak of Omicron continues, we held a small online celebration for Ms. Chen Li, the first doctoral student of Yamada Lab. We also invited some of our alumni who knew Ms. Chen during her master’s and doctoral studies. Dr. Lu Min (Core Ethics & Frontier Sciences), who supported Ms. Chen’s research and provided her with personal advice, also attended the party. Thank you very much. We had a lot of fun talking about the old days.

Ms. Eto, the first master’s student/completer of Yamada Laboratory who is now a school nurse teacher in Fukuoka City (winner of the Dean’s Award of the Graduate School of Human Environment Studies), commented that she was deeply moved by the fact that the number of graduates from Yamada Laboratory has increased so much and that there were even doctoral degree holders. I was also very moved by the comments of the other participants, including Hamada-san, who is working hard as an engineer in the education industry, Feng-san, who is working hard in the game industry, and Xu-san, who has returned to China and is working at a research institute. They were all doing their best, demonstrating their individual strengths while realizing the differences between graduate school and the corporate world. I am glad to see that he is doing well.

As a wonderful gift to Ms. Chen, Mr. Xu made a video of Ms. Chen’s past efforts and the Yamada Laboratory. Ms. Chen was very impressed. Mr. Xu had received a lot of research support from Ms. Chen when he was a master’s student, and he was very happy for her to receive the doctoral degree this time.

And to me… Mr. Xu is very considerate of me as well, and I regularly receive emails from him saying hello, which I really appreciate!

It was really a small celebration online, but it was a very good celebration that I will remember for the rest of my life. I would like to continue to do my best to create a laboratory that can contribute to the development of human resources who can be active in various industries in the corporate world, as well as to the cultivation of researchers who will develop the research field of educational technology, and I would like to renew my determination to do so.

Thank you for your continuous support.
