I returned from Tokyo yesterday and received some happy news. I was informed that a second edition of the Introduction to Higher Education (Minerva Shobo), published last year, has been approved. I am very pleased. Thank you very much. This is thanks to Mr. Kajitani at Minerva Shobo, the editors Professor Hayata, Professor Morohoshi, and Professor Aono, the contributing authors (including Professor Matsukawa at Osaka University, who I also work with on research), and everyone who purchased the book. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.
Regarding the internationalization of e-learning, I have provided a brief introduction covering support for international students (using examples from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and the Japan Foundation) and OCW (using examples from MIT and the University of Tokyo).
There is more I would like to write about the internationalization of e-learning, and I hope to write about it in more detail if another opportunity arises. The situation seems likely to change significantly from here on out.
